Jacana Camp
Jacana Camp is a true water camp set in the private Jao Reserve in the heart of Botswana’s renowned Okavango Delta.
Accommodation & Facilities
Each of the five Meru-style tents have adjoining bathrooms and are on a raised wooden deck overlooking the surrounding floodplains. The main dining area is also on an elevated deck, with wonderful views over the Delta. There is a comfortable bar and lounge area, as well as a stunning swimming pool from which you are able to spot an array of wildlife.
Wildlife & Activities
Guests can take guided walks and Mokoro canoe trips throughout the year and game viewing from vehicles is possible when the flood waters recede (usually between September and May). The area is excellent for birders, and game viewing is good at various times of the year. Jacana camp is located in one of the most densely populated wetland areas for red lechwe and sitatunga. It is also possible to do boat trips to Hunda Island during the flood season to see the concentration of resident game which make their home there.
