Overlooking a permanent water hole and the endless vistas of the Kalahari plains, Tau Pan Camp is set in an ideal location in the famed Kalahari Game Reserve. The Reserve  This is the largest game reserve in the world covering almost 53,000 square kilometers, an area twice the size of Massachusetts, and is known for being one of Africa’s last truly wild areas.

Accommodation & Facilities
Tau Pau accommodates up to eight guests in its environmentally friendly, well designed desert rooms. The camp's thick walls and thatched roofs keeps rooms cool during the hot summer months and warm during the cold winter season. Every room has overhead fans, solar electric supply and a private veranda with amazing views across the spetacular landscape. All rooms offer ensuite bathrooms with  outdoor showers. The camp has an inviting dining room, lounge area and viewing deck for all guests, as well as a pool, library and small shop.

Wildlife & Activities
The terrain in the Tau Pan region is mostly grass plains with occasional shallow valleys, sand dunes and a large number of pans. The pans are invaluable to the wildlife as the grasses they support are highly nutritious thanks to the salts and minerals in the soil. Animals such springbok, gemsbok and wildebeest congregate in large herds, thousands strong, after the rains offering visitors an incredible wildlife experience. There are many predators especially the famous Kalahari black-maned lion, and cheetah, while leopard, jackals, brown hyenas and wild dog are also often seen. Game drives are a great way to see the fantastic wildlife, while guided bush walks with San Bushmen offer visitors a wonderful opportunity to learn about life in the desert through the eyes of people whose ancestors have lived here for many millennia.
