Traveling through this vast wilderness area on horseback is an amazing experience, offering a fantastic opportunity to view the wildlife at close range. Owned and run by renowned horsewoman Sarah-Jane Gullick, the riding safaris are operated by a team who know and love this incredible region and pass their enthusiasm on to their guests. Seven or ten day safaris are available, but shorter trips can be arranged. Expect to be in the saddle for between four and six hours each day.

Accommodations are in spacious twin-bedded, classic safari-style tents with private bathrooms. The tents have a large veranda with comfy armchairs and an expansive view of the floodplain; they are well separated from each other. The camp has a central large well furnished dining tent, and hidden away among the trees is a small pool. African Horseback Safari groups have a maximum of eight riders, the horses are well-cared for and beautifully behaved; the riders are carefully matched to their horses.

The Okavango Delta is a beautiful wetland area bursting with life; the bush continuously transforms and shifts as you travel between the islands. On a riding safari, you feel much closer to the wildlife than in a vehicle, and you get to experience a wider variety of habitats. Riding alongside zebra, buffalo and giraffe as you traverse the delta is an incredible experience. For guests wanting a break from the saddle, there are day and night game drives and bird watching walks, seasonal mokoro (type of canoe) trips can also be organized.
