Footsteps Camp
Footsteps
Camp is a semi-permanent tented camp situated in the wetland wilderness of the
Okavango Delta.
Footsteps
Camp accommodates just six guests in simple, but comfortable mini meru tents
with private facilities and long drop toilets. After a long day out in the bush
you can relax in a separate bath tent complete with a Victorian bath and a
wildlife look-out area. There is a large central dining tent with a communal
table serving up delicious, home-cooked meals using local produce.
A stay at
Footsteps Camp is an ideal way to really get to know the African Wilderness and
view some of the incredible wildlife and vegetation that thrives in the unique
Okavango Delta. The main activities at the camp are based on walking safaris,
but there is a vehicle and mokoros (a type of canoe) available for journeys
further off the beaten path, thus allowing guests to vary the activities and
create their own itinerary. The experience at Footsteps Camp allows you to
really get your feet on the ground and leave your vehicle behind, fully
appreciating the sights, smells and sounds of the delta. An armed expert guide
accompanies all activities. The game numbers are good and the varieties of
birds in this area are legendary; a wildlife walk offers the opportunity to see
and photograph numerous species.
