Meno a Kwena
Meno a Kwena is the name given to a deep stretch of the Boteti River in Botswana, once inhabited by hippo and crocodiles in a garden of water lilies, which literally translated means 'Tooth of the Crocodile'. Meno a Kwena Tented Camp is on the Makgadikgadi Pans Game Reserve's western boundary.
Accommodation is in eight mini meru walk-in tents with two single safari beds. Each tent has a bucket shower and flushable toilet; which are private but not ensuite as they are a few steps away from your tent. It is quite an experience standing under an open Kalahari sky filled with stars or alive with the traffic of riverine birds, depending on the time of day you choose to have your shower. Meals are prepared specially for the barbeque and 'tin box oven' cooked on the campfire, adding to the authentic safari experience.
Meno a Kwena is an excellent area for viewing wildlife visiting the waterhole, bird watching or simply relaxing in a very peaceful atmosphere.
