Mombo
Mombo consists of two small camps situated on the northern tip of Chief's Island in the heart of the Okavango Delta. Surrounded by seasonal waterways, the camps overlook the plains which are usually full of both plains game and predators.
Accommodation & Facilities
Mombo's main camp has accommodations for 18 guests in nine luxurious, canvas walled, elevated rooms, connected by board walks. Little Mombo Camp is close by but separately run and has three similarly elevated rooms sleeping just six guests. The rooms there are individually decorated and the views from your bed, private veranda, and pool deck across the plain are breathtaking. There are similar views from the bar and dining areas, with a spotlight on the deck in front of the dining room at night to pick out predators crossing the camp.
Wildlife & Activities
Both Mombo camps offer land based wildlife activities in specially adapted open viewing vehicles. Game viewing and birding in this area is excellent because the land around Chief's Island has been protected for many years and game numbers are high because many animals have migrated into the area from surrounding lands. The game here is extremely relaxed around vehicles and people.
