Stanley's Camp
Stanley 's Camp is nestled amongst ebony trees and sausage trees on the southern tip of Chief's Island, amidst 260,000 acres of untamed African bush. Bordering the southern section of the famous Moremi Game Reserve this private concession is located in a seasonal delta. From the camp there are extensive, breathtaking views across the surrounding floodplain.
Accommodation & Facilities
Accommodations at Stanley’s Camp are in eight classically styled safari tents, complete with antique furniture, oriental carpets and handcrafted beds. All the tents have adjoining bathrooms. The elevated main building has been constructed to blend into the existing tree line.
Wildlife & Activities
Game viewing in this area is excellent with large numbers of predators and plains game on offer. The area is also home to one of the largest populations of buffalo in the Okavango Delta, which in the dry season can concentrate into a herd in excess of 2000 head. Stanley’s Camp offers both morning and evening game drives, walking safaris and mokoro (dug-out canoe) trips with an armed, professional guide. A unique aspect of a stay here is the opportunity to spend some time with a herd of semi-habituated elephants, where guests can get up close to these incredible animals in their natural habitat and learn more about them.
