Xakanaxa Camp
Xakanaxa Camp is situated in the Moremi Game Reserve in the heart of the Okavango Delta. This is a lush, wetland area with abundant year-round game viewing. Access is usually from Maun, either by light aircraft though the journey can also be undertaken by road. Accommodations are in twelve large tents on raised wooden platforms. The tents are fully equipped and tastefully furnished with private facilities. Xakanaxa Camp has recently undergone a renovation program and the standards are high. The central dining room, fire deck, bars, and pool all have wonderful views over the Okavango waterways. Xakanaxa offers both land and water based activities and wildlife watching safaris. This is one of the few lodges in Moremi that is able to offer year-round boating trips. Since the camp is within the Moremi Game Reserve walking safaris are not possible. Activities are led by professional, conservation-aware guides. The bird watching in the area is excellent and there is the chance to do some in season fishing.
