Funzi Keys

Funzi Keys enjoys an idyllic location on an unspoiled Indian Ocean island off the southern coast of Kenya. The west-facing beach has glorious views of the evening sunsets.

There are nine roomy sea front cottages which are built along the high water line on the beach itself and eight sea view cottages, all constructed of stone and thatch with large netted windows open to the balmy sea breeze. The cottages all have hand carved four poster beds, adjoining bathrooms and are furnished with local wooden artefacts and colourful fabrics with spectacular sea views. Each cottage has a large furnished veranda from where you can sip a quiet drink while enjoying the stunning views. The main communal area has a large pool, dining room, and well stocked bar.

Funzi Keys offers a relaxed, easy going atmosphere; many guests do little more than unwind on the wooden poolside deck with a long cool drink while watching the local fishing dhows sail by. For the more adventurous or energetic guests there are opportunities for sailing, creek fishing, snorkeling, windsurfing, canoeing, or perhaps taking a boat trip up the nearby Ramisi River or Funzi Creek, ideal for bird watchers and nature lovers. The lodge provides an excellent base for scuba diving and deep-sea fishing in the world famous Pemba Channel.
