Karisia Walking Safaris

A Karisia tailor-made walking safari is an unforgettable Kenyan experience. The trips are led by the owners of Karisia, Kerry Glen and James Christian, (both Kenyan born), or on request, by one of their local Samburu guides. You can expect great hospitality and an incredible knowledge of Kenya's history, her wildlife, people and landscapes from your guide. You can choose from a walking tour in one of  Kenya's famous national parks such the Masai Mara, or maybe an adventure on a camel supported trip into a lesser visited area, such as the Laikipia area with its stunning views across to Mount Kenya.

Safari nights are spent in extremely comfortable mobile camps, complete with walk-in traditional style safari tents furnished with a large floor mattress and an outside table and chairs. There is also an outside basin filled with hot water every morning and evening, and a private toilet and shower behind each tent (filled with hot water upon request). Freshly prepared meals are served by your guides, allowing you to savor hand chosen local meat and produce.

Any Kenyan safari is an exhilarating experience, but a Karisia walking safari brings the plant life, sights, sounds and smells of the bush closer than a vehicle based trip ever could.  The slower pace and expert guiding allows guests to experience the smaller things often missed by visitors.
