Kicheche
Kicheche is in a private area just outside Kenya's famous Masai Mara National Reserve. It is a tented camp, which is secluded amongst Euclea and African Olives, impinging little on the natural habitat, so animals wander through the area unperturbed.
The camp has 11 tents, which look out over grassy plains. Each tent has an en-suite bucket shower and flush toilet. Although there is a dining tent, most meals are eaten outdoors. There is a separate communal tent with comfy chairs, a great place to relax at the end of the day with a small library of reference books.
From the camp game drives with Kicheche's experienced guides in customised 4x4 vehicles allow guests to view the incredible Masai Mara wildlife. Between July and October, wildebeest and zebra cross the plains, migrating from the adjoining Serengeti. These animals are prey for lions, leopards and cheetahs, which abound in large numbers. Walking safaris are also available, and offer a different perspective of the Reserve.
