Kitich
Kitich is situated in the southern part of Kenya's Mathews Mountain Range. The camp nestles in a grove of fig trees on the bank of the seasonal Ngeng River.
Owned and run by Gulio Bertolli, Kitich is very small, with only four well appointed tents. Eac has long drop toilets and bucket showers and is lit with hurricane lamps and candles.
Activities around the Camp generally involve walking. You can walk forty minutes to a natural swimming pool, or twenty minutes to an isolated fishing hole. The surrounding forest is incredibly beautiful, and the area is good for those interested in flora and fauna. The area has lots of elephants, and many wild animals in the region have sought refuge in the Ngeng valley, away from domestic animals. There is also good birdlife in the area.
