Manda Bay        
  
Manda Bay is a beautiful lodge located on the north-western tip of Manda Island, in the Lamu archipelago. Lapped by the calm Indian Ocean waters, its tidal sandy beaches provide the ideal setting for a relaxing hideaway. The sixteen rooms, each with an adjoining bathroom are all built from local materials and have ceiling fans and walk-in mosquito nets. The setting is a bit like a safari camp with a central dining area and bar. Guests can choose to dine around the big table or to have a table set up somewhere more secluded. The lodge offers excellent local cuisine with seafood as a speciality. Flexible mealtimes allow guests to relax or enjoy various activities whenever they wish. There are numerous water sports offered including snorkelling, creek fishing, sailing, water skiing, diving and kite surfing. For those who just want to relax, the lodge has a lovely swimming pool set back from the beach. Bird watching and cultural visits to some of the many local ruins are available. Lamu is only 30 minutes away by speedboat and Manda Bay Lodge has its own 60 ft dhow from which to enjoy sundowner or overnight trips.
