Offbeat Mara Camp
Offbeat Mara Camp is in the heart of Kenya's game rich Masai Mara. It is a bush camp which is nestled on the shady banks of the Olare Orok River, impinging little on the natural habitat, so animals wander through the area unperturbed.
The camp has six luxury tents overlooking the plains of the Masai Mara. All tents come with en-suite shower rooms (bucket showers with hot water available on request) with flushing toilets, huge wooden beds and internal lighting. This is a traditional bush camp where you spend nights sitting around the camp fire and eating dinner under the stars. There is a small lounge tent with comfy chairs and a small bar, a great place to relax at the end of the day with a small library of reference books.
From the camp game drives with experienced guides in customised 4x4 vehicles allow guests to view the incredible Masai Mara wildlife. Between July and October, wildebeest and zebra cross the plains, migrating from the adjoining Serengeti. These animals are prey for lions, leopards and cheetahs, which abound in large numbers. Walking safaris are also available, and offer a different perspective of the National Park.
