Lamu is an historic and exotic Arabic Island, in the Indian Ocean off the coast of Northern Kenya. Peponi Hotel, both luxurious and romantic, is located in Shela Village 20 minutes by dhow from Lamu Town. Lamu can be reached by flights from Malindi and Nairobi.
Each of the hotel's 24 rooms enjoys a sea view, and has en-suite facilities. The hotel is renowned for its delicious food, and meals include excellent locally caught seafood. Just five minutes walk from Peponi is an eight mile beach which stretches into the distance. To the north west of the hotel lies a great sand dune, where bones of those killed in a battle 175 years ago are still found. Many activities are available nearby which include water skiing, deep-sea fishing, excursions by motorboat and snorkelling.
