Richard's Camp is in a private area just outside the Masai Mara. It is a short drive from an airstrip serviced by both charter and scheduled flights, which take 30 - 45 minutes from Nairobi.
The camp has six large safari tents with en-suite bucket showers and flush toilets. There is a free-standing 'bath in the bush' which provides a great way to relax between game activities. There is also a lounge area, but most meals are taken outside.
Game viewing can be done on foot with an experienced guide, or in a customised 4x4 vehicle. In the reserve there are very large herds of buffalo, wildebeest and various antelope. Hippo, giraffe, elephant, cheetah and leopard are frequently seen. The Masai Mara normally hosts the incredible wildebeest migration on their annual trek from the southern plains of the Serengeti, and this can be seen between late June and mid October. Night game drives from Richard's Camp are also available.
