Tsarabanjina
Tsarabanjina is a tiny private island off Madagascar's north west coast in the Nosy Be area. With lush forest surrounded by white sandy beaches it is best known as Joanna Lumley's castaway island in the BBC series of the same name.
There are 21 rooms made from thatch and woven reeds. Each has en suite facilities and a verandah with hammocks, which looks across the white sand to the blue sea. There is a relaxed dining room and bar.
Diving and snorkelling is very good in this area. Deep-sea fishing, sailing, boat trips and water skiing are also available whilst staying at Tsarabanjina.
