Vamizi Island
Vamizi is a seven mile long stretch of land in Northern Mozambique, just off the coast of Palma in the far north of Cabo Delgado. The interior is forested and is home to a huge variety of animal and bird species. The warm, clear ocean around the island is rich in marine life and coral. Both Hawksbill and Green turtles nest on the island's beaches. The accommodations at Vamizi are in ten luxuriously appointed beach houses spread along the white sandy beach. The secluded houses are nestled in the shade at the edge of the forest and have a large lounge area, a private bathroom, and breezy veranda on which guests can relax in private. The diving and snorkeling at Vamizi Island are among the best in the world and there is excellent fishing around the shores. On land guides are available to accompany guests on treks into the interior of the island either on foot or by vehicle.
