Desert Homestead is situated 35km southeast of Sesriem, and the Sossusvlei dunes, in a wide grassy valley, sheltered by the Nubib, Tsaris and Naukluft mountains.

There are 19 rustic chalets, all built from local rock and blending in with the environment. Simply but comfortably furnished each has ensuite facilities and a private deck area outside. The main area has dining, bar and lounge areas as well as a small swimming pool and sun deck.

There are horses on site at Desert Homestead and guests can ride early morning and late evening. Guided tours into the Sossusvlei Dunes can also be arranged.
