Erongo
Set against the impressive rock “kopjes” in the Erongo Wilderness area between Windhoek to the south, and Etosha to the north, lies Erongo Camp. Ten spacious safari tents are set on platforms amongst the rocks, shaded by thatched roofs. Each is equipped with bathroom facilities and has a large veranda in front, where spectacular views can be seen. Erongo Camp has a restaurant and bar in the main area, which overlooks a small waterhole. There is also a plunge pool with shaded and sunny areas nearby. Nature drives or walks are available in Erongo area, in the morning or evening. There are some enjoyable, short walks to the nearby freestanding granite outcrops. Wildlife is sparse here, but there are smaller antelope, interesting birds and many rock hyrax in the area. There are also a number of Bushman paintings in the area.
