Skeleton Coast Safaris
For 25 years, the Schoeman family have been organizing flying safaris along Namibia’s Skeleton Coast. Incredible archaeological and geological features, a range of flora and fauna and magnificent landscapes can all be viewed from the air or the ground. A classic tour will involve meeting a small group on a private plane and visiting some of the most remote areas in the world today. The trip is four days long, with three nights spent in different camps. These will be cozy igloo tents or wooden huts, with chemical toilets. Bathroom facilities with showers are outside. There are regular landing stops, where guests can admire the geological formations or view the ancient Bushman rock engravings. Although the journey is only four days long, guests really feel that they have experienced the very best Namibia has to offer. Flying over the Sossusvlei dunes, landing on the Skeleton Coast and visiting Damaraland and Kaooland are all part of the trip. Guests have the chance to meet the Himba people on the Angolan border, see the ancient Welwitschia plant, and slide and drive down the enormous dunes. The extensive knowledge of the Schoeman hosts and guides, along with the spectacular scenery, make this one of the best trips in Namibia and indeed the whole of Africa.
