Denis Island
Around 60 miles from Mahé lies Denis Island, a 350 acre island at the edge of the Seychelles Bank. Almost completely surrounded by coral reefs, the island has many beautiful white sand beaches and natural lagoons. On the north western edge of the island, Denis Island Resort is surrounded by mature casuarina trees and coconut palms next to the beach. There are 25 graceful cottages, all with private bathroom facilities, sea facing verandas and courtyards. There are tracks through the coconut groves, leading inland to the center of the island. International foods, as well as local specialties, are served in the restaurant and there is also a great bar. There are plenty of activities available on Denis Island, including canoeing, sailing, wind-surfing and tennis as well as snorkeling, diving and fishing.
