Cybele Forest Lodge
Cybele Forest Lodge is located in the Mpumalanga area of South Africa, well off the beaten path in a forestry and fruit plantation. From the lodge it is about four hours drive east to Johannesburg and just a couple of hours west to the game areas of the Kruger National Park.
Accommodation & Facilities
Cybele Forest Lodge offers several different styles of accommodation, all of which have en-suite bathrooms, and some with their own private garden and plunge pool. In the main house are comfortable lounges, a bar and a relaxed dining room. The beautifully maintained gardens have a swimming pool. The Forest Health Spa offers a wide variety of beauty treatments, plus a well equipped gym.
Wildlife & Activities
Cybele Forest Lodge is ideally located for visiting the highlights of
the Mpumalanga area including Mac Mac Falls, God’s Window, Bourke’s Luck
Potholes, the Blyde River Canyon and Pilgrim’s rest, all within an
hour’s easy drive from the lodge. There are a variety of
activities for the more adventurous, including river rafting, quad
biking and the longest aerial cable trail in Africa. Visits can also be
arranged to The Jane Goodall Chimpanzee Eden and Mpumalanga
Elephant-Back Safaris. For those wishing to stay around the lodge, there
is a lovely woodland walk down to Cybele Falls, where a picnic
breakfast or lunch can be set up, or simply relax in the spa or beside
the pool and enjoy the mountain views.
