Horizon Horseback Safaris

Horizon Horseback Safaris are located within the stunning Waterberg Reserve in northern South Africa, only two and a half hours drive from Johannesburg. The area is malaria-free and offers diverse terrain for riding safaris; this is one of the most varied and action-packed horseback riding vacations in Africa in an area renowned for its wilderness quality and conservation importance.

Accommodations are either in the main ranch or in a chalet in the large garden. Guests have over 70 well cared for horses to choose from and can participate in a different activity each day.  This might include cattle herding, western games, polocrosse, gymkhana, cross country practice, jumping or two day riding safaris. When not in the saddle, guests can relax by the pool or on the shady veranda and bar area.

Horizon Horseback Safaris also offer two longer expeditions on the nearby 20,000 acre Dinaka game reserve where there is excellent game viewing and exhilarating riding. You can choose either a five or an eight night safari; the accommodations are in a stunning luxury lodge overlooking a beautiful lake to the rolling plains beyond.
