Jaci's Lodges
Jaci's Lodges consist of Safari Lodge and Tree Lodge in the Madikwe Game Reserve in northern South Africa, close to the Botswana border. The 185329 acre, malaria free reserve has fantastic fauna and flora, and it is home to 27 animal species. Over 340 species of birds have been recorded in the area. This is a ‘Big Five' area- lion, elephant, leopard, rhino and buffalo, and also home to cheetah and the rare wild dog. Jaci's Tree Lodge has eight luxuriously appointed tree-house rooms linked by aerial walkways. The bar and boma areas have been constructed around existing trees. Jaci's Safari Lodge has an ideal location on the banks of the Marico River, overlooking an established and well used water hole beneath a grove of tamboti trees. There are just eight beautifully furnished rooms with adjoining bathrooms. There are also two "houses" with their own pools at the Safari Lodge. The Nare Suite sleeps four in two bedrooms and offers the chance for meals to be taken privately as well as private game viewing in your own vehicle with a private guide. Jaci's Safari Cottage also sleeps four and is suitable for families with older children. It has a bedroom on a mezzanine level by the living room as well as the separate main bedroom. Jaci's Lodges offer both vehicle based and walking safaris, and early morning and evening game viewing are the highlights of a stay here. When not on safari, guests can choose to relax by one of the swimming pools, or in a hammock. You may also go out for a paddle in one of the camp canoes.
