Chada Katavi
Chada Katavi camp is in a remote location in south western of Tanzania on the Chada floodplains of Katavi National Park. You are unlikely to see any other tourists during your stay since there are few other camps and no mini-buses within the million acres of national park surrounding the camp. Accommodations are simple bush style. The canvas tents have comfortable beds with linen sheets and a hot shower hung from a bush in a separate bathroom area behind the tent. Nights can be spent either in your tent or out on bedrolls slung under borassus palms. The simple hearty food is freshly prepared and served in the central mess tent, often visited by an old elephant. Game walks and drives from Chada Katavi will take you into one of the best viewing areas in Tanzania for an unforgettable experience. The landscape changes according to the season; Katavi is either a beautiful water world when the plains are flooded, or a dry bush desert which concentrates the game around a few freshwater springs. Rare species such as sable and roan antelope live here and you may be lucky enough to spot them grazing.
