Faru Faru
Faru Faru sits on a small hill overlooking a permanent waterhole and the Grumeti River beyond. It is in the eastern region of Singita Grumeti Reserves, adjacent to the Western Corridor of the Serengeti.
The six stone and canvas thatched suites have been built in the style of a traditional East African safari camp. Classic from the outside, the interiors are the ultimate in contemporary style with panoramic glass windows, mirrored room divides and roll top baths with stunning views. The central areas have been built out of local stone and take advantage of the terraced hillside. A sand ‘beach’ has been created for sunbathing and the swimming pool overlooks the waterhole below. Elevated viewing decks make perfect spots for surveying the rugged landscape beyond.
The Grumeti River draws large herds of resident wildlife so even in the dry season when the great herds have left in search of greener pastures, there are good concentrations of game in the area. Activities at Faru Faru include game drives and walking safaris, including wonderful dry season walks along the Grumeti River. Horse riding and mountain biking are also possible at the nearby sister property, Sasakwa Lodge.
