Mwagusi Safari Camp
Mwagusi is situated along the banks of the Mwagusi sand river in the northern part of the Ruaha National Park. Ruaha is less popular than some of the other Tanzanian parks but has a wealth of game; there are over 480 recorded species of birds and large concentrations of giraffe, elephant and buffalo. Mwagusi Safari Camp is built in traditional reed and thatch; there are thirteen double guest chalets, each with a shaded open air lounge area at the front, a comfortable tented central sleeping area, and a spacious private bathroom adjoining the main tent at the back. Guests can choose to dine out in the open air beneath the stars, or in the cozy, centrally located dining area and bar. The tasty home cooked food ensures all the guests leave a little heavier. Mwagusi Safari Camp is owned and run by elite guide Chris Fox. He and his staff ensure that the all the guests receive a warm welcome and are well attended to throughout their stay. Activities available are very flexible; you can choose a walking safari or a game drive. Nearby Kimlamatoge Hill is great for walking and the spectacular views of the Ruaha Park below are well worth the effort. |
