Ngorongoro Crater Lodge

The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the world's natural wonders. There are six mountain peaks constantly in view and the abundant wildlife in the area frequently includes big five sightings - lion, rhino, elephant, leopard and buffalo. The surrounding swamps and plains are teeming with an enormous variety of birds and game. The conservation area is the home of the Masai people and their cattle, co-existing with the wildlife in this unique ecosystem.

Ngorongoro Crater Lodge, perched on the rim of the crater, provides breathtaking views down to the crater below. To describe this superlative setting is difficult. The beautifully furnished rooms are stylishly comfortable and the staff provide excellent service. The lodge is regarded as one of Africa's most unique destinations. The camp is actually in three separate sections, two of these have 12 guest suites and the Tree Camp has 6 guest suites. All suites have adjoining bathrooms, and those with good imaginations will note that they are designed with inspiration from a traditional Masai homestead. Each camp has its own separate dining area, and the suites at Tree Camp have a separate lounge with an open fireplace and private viewing deck.

Ngorongoro Crater Lodge offer safaris on the crater floor, which teems with game all year. There are walks around the rim of the crater or the chance to visit Olduvai Gorge where some of the oldest known remains of ancient man have been found.
