Sasakwa Lodge
Sasakwa Lodge is situated on top of Sasakwa Hill in the Singita Grumeti Reserves, adjacent to the Western Corridor of the Serengeti. The glorious hill top setting makes for quite incredible views across the rolling Serengeti plains.
Sasakwa resembles a turn of the century East African ranch house and is decorated in lavish style. The seven suites are housed in individual stone cottages and range in size from one to four bedrooms. The elegant interiors have been decorated with Venetian mirrors and crystal chandeliers, African art and leather armchairs. Each room has a spacious en-suite bathroom and dressing room. Cooled by air conditioning in the summer and warmed by fires in the cool winter evenings the rooms are extremely comfortable year-round. Outside, each has a heated infinity plunge pool, verandah and spotting telescope. The main house includes a smart dining room, bar, garden room, family television room, library, wood-panelled billiards room and wine cellar. For energetic guests, Sasakwa also has two tennis courts, a gym, spa, heated infinity pool and Jacuzzi.
Safari activities include game drives and walks in the company of expert guides. Sasakwa’s equestrian centre is just a few minutes walk from the lodge and houses sixteen horses. Experienced riders can take guided rides out onto the Serengeti plains. Among other activities are star gazing safaris, mountain biking, croquet and archery.
