Selous Safari Camp
Selous Game Reserve is situated in Tanzania and is the largest protected site in the whole of Africa. It is vast, little known and undeveloped reserve swarming with a medley of wildlife. Selous Safari Camp is in the northern part of the reserve, secluded from any other camps and is a particularly good area for game. Selous Safari Camp is an established tented camp looking out over a lake fed by the Rufiji River. There the camp is split into two (North Camp with seven tents and South Camp with six tents) each with a dining and lounge area as well as its own pool. The large, comfortable safari tents are built up on platforms each with bathroom facilities inclulding a ‘star shower’. The tents are well spaced out from each other, ensuring complete privacy Activites include walking safaris, boat trips and game drives in open vehicles, as well as fly-camping, a truly amazing experience sleeping out under the stars. A stay at Selous Safari Camp will suit anybody who enjoys travelling in areas well away from tourist hot spots. The Rufiji River is a magnet for birds as well as having a high population of hippo and crocodile. Land based game viewings, which are especially good between June and October, include wild dog, lion, giraffe and elephant.
