Ndali Lodge
Ndali Lodge is set in 1,000 acres of verdant farmland on the edge of an ancient volcano which has filled with water to form Lake Nyinambuga. It is an hour's drive from the park entrance to the Rwenzoris and around 45 minutes from the Kibale Forest National Park. Accommodations are in eight spacious cottages with private bathrooms. All have a west facing veranda which is perfect for watching the sun go down over the stunning Rwenzori Mountains. The main thatch lodge has a large lounge and dining area and opens out onto the Lake. Kibale National Park is home to the largest concentration of chimpanzees in Africa, as well as many other primates, butterflies and birds. Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community-based conservation project, is also close by. The crater lake is perfect for swimming and sunbathing, but it is also home to five different species of kingfisher. Walks can be taken with local guides to see banana plantations, coffee terraces, the Mahoma waterfall, plots of groundnuts, cassava, millet, or sorghum.
