Chongwe River House
Chongwe River House is situated at the merge of the Chongwe and Zambezi Rivers about half-mile from the main camp. This exquisitely designed house was built with all natural materials and enjoys fabulous views of the Muchinga Mountains to the north. The Lower Zambezi National Park is just across the Chongwe River and offers a pristine wilderness and a wide variety of terrain. Chongwe River House is situated on the banks of the river and accommodates up to eight guests in four separate bedrooms (two on the ground floor and two on the second floor). There is a large open-plan sitting room and dining area together with a large decked area around the swimming pool for relaxing and enjoying the view. Guests at Chongwe River House have exclusive use of a vehicle and guide for game viewing. This is an ideal destination for families or groups of friends traveling together. The game viewing is excellent and guests can take game drives, guided bush walks, and boat trips into the Lower Zambezi National Park; buffalo, lion, elephant, and leopard are often sighted. Hundreds of species of birds have been recorded in this area and fishing the Zambezi for tiger fish and bream is a favorite pastime.
