Kapani Lodge
Kapani Lodge is delightfully located at the edge of a large lagoon beside the Luangwa River close to the main gate of the South Luangwa National Park.
Accommodation & Facilities
The accommodations consist of six brick and thatch guest rooms designed for the warm Zambian weather; they have large gauze windows, high ceilings and overhead fans. All the rooms have adjoining bathrooms with full facilities. The central area is a thatched building housing the lounge and bar areas and is a comfortable place to relax between game drives. There is also a secluded swimming pool at the edge of the camp. Meals at Kapani Lodge are usually eaten outdoors; dinner is usually served on the terrace and brunch taken on a shady platform overlooking the lagoon.
Wildlife & Activities
The Mfuwe area is busier than some other parts of the South Luangwa National Park but, compared to parks in other areas of Africa, is still very quiet. Because of the long tradition of bush camps in this area and the presence of people, the wildlife perceive the area as safe and are present in very high densities. Vehicle-based game viewing is available from Kapani Lodge, and this is one of the few national parks which will allow night drives.
