Located in the Olare Orok Conservancy, Mara Plains Camp is ideally situated to offer fantastic game viewing opportunities. The camp is set on the Ntiakatek River, with views of the surrounding plains and the cooling canopy of the riverine forest.
Accommodation & Facilities
Mara Plains has just seven tents with views of either the plains or the river, resulting in a peaceful atmosphere and a feeling of seclusion. The octagonal canvas tents are raised on wooden decks, offering spacious accommodation with ensuite bathrooms with flush loos and a shower. The camp is centred around three open-air mess tents connected together in a pod concept. There are two sitting rooms, one with a small library and writing area. Breakfast and dinners, when not being enjoyed under the stars, are taken in the main dining room consisting of a large wooden table and magnificent chandelier. Alternatively, meals can be enjoyed under the stars on the raised wooden platforms.
Wildlife & Activities
Mara Plains Camp offers unrivalled wildlife viewing opportunities within the comfort of spacious 4x4 vehicles. Expert guides enthral guests and convey their enthusiasm for the local culture, wildlife and environment exceptionally well. Activities on offer at Mara Plains include day and night game drives, balloon rides and cultural visits to Masai communities.
