Mananara Lodge

The Anjozorobe forest corridor is one of the last vestiges of dense rainforest in Madagascar.  It is set on the high plateau, covering 66,500 hectares and stretching over 50 miles.  Mananara Lodge is set in a lush private 2,500 hectare reserve within the tropical forest less than two hours to the north of Tana.

Accommodation & Facilities
Accommodation here is in five semi tented bungalows which are nestled into the surrounding vegetation.  All of the bungalows have their own bathrooms and private verandahs.  There is a glass walled restaurant which boasts magnificent views over the rainforest.

Wildlife & Activities
The forest harbors a huge biodiversity and can be explored on a wide variety of forest walks or a mountain bike trail with its extraordinary panoramic views.  Eleven species of lemurs live in the forest and for ornithologists Anjozorobe is ideal with its 82 bird species, of which 43 are endemic.  There are also more than 423 plant species of which 65% are endemic to Madagascar.
