Mountain Climbing and Trekking

Africa's mountains offer a unique insight into the wild world, with every meter climbed subtly changing the flora and fauna on every side. Above the montane forest giant lobelia and oversized ferns are just some of the very different ecosystems you'll encounter.

In East Africa climbing requires specialist guides and porters. We can organize expeditions to the peak of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, as well as Mount Meru and Mount Kenya across the border to the north. We can arrange for you to climb Mount Elgon from both Kenyan and Ugandan flanks or to trek the remote Rwenzori range in Uganda's forested west. In South Africa, many of the mountains are best explored independently: we can advise on routes through the Cedarberg and Drakensberg mountain ranges, hiking independently and staying in mountain lodges and local b&b's.
