Azura at Quilálea
Located in the Quirimbas Archipelago off the north coast of of Mozambique, Quilálea is a beautiful, completely uninhabited island. Offering guests the ultimate privacy, the island
is just 86 acres and is surrounded by the crystal clear waters of the Indian Ocean. Quilálea is just a 20 minute plane journey to the island's private air field and
then a short onward boat trip.
Accommodation & Facilities
The island accommodates a maximum of 18 guests in nine villas. The villas are spacious, beautifully handcrafted from indigenous stone and thatch,
have en-suite facilities and offer traditionally built furniture. Private verandas and
large windows offer panoramic sea views. Air conditioning as well as colonial ceiling
fans keep guests cool. The communal facilities on the island include a bar, lounge and library area,
a small plunge pool, and a restaurant serving excellent fresh seafood.
Wildlife & Activities
Azura at Quilálea is a water-lover's delight with activities ranging from superb scuba diving
and snorkelling (some of which can be done straight off the beach onto the ‘home reef’),
to fly-fishing, sport fishing, canoeing, sailing, swimming and bird watching. Guests can also take the
opportunity to discover the traditional way of life and local culture by visiting the village of Quirimba
or the ancient forts of Ibo Island.
