Azura Retreat

 

Azura Retreat is located on Benguerra Island within Mozambique's Bazaruto National Park.  Guests on this lovely unspoilt island are surrounded by stunning white sand beaches, sparkling turquoise seas, swaying palms and star studded nights.

Built entirely by hand, Azura Lodge comprises just 15 villas which are set amid the indigenous trees and bush and are only footsteps from the beach. Azura blends designer chic with traditional Mozambique style, including carved wooden beams and local thatched roofs. The two 'Luxury Beach Villas' and ten 'Infinity Beach Villas' have wonderful sea views, private plunge pools (those of the Infinity Villas are marginally bigger than those of the Luxury Villas), a sundeck and private beachside 'sala'. The large bedrooms have both fan and air conditioning and an adjoining shower room. There are also two private villas, Villa Amizade and the Presidential Villa. Amizade offers two ensuite, seaview bedrooms, a large swimming pool, lounge and dining areas and a beachfron garden. The larger Presidential Villa sleeps up to six guests, offering a roomy lounge area with a fireplace, a tree-house lounging area, large pool with extensive lounging areas. 

Azura Lodge offers wonderful Mozambican cuisine and service together with a wide range of activities and experiences, scuba diving, snorkelling, fishing, swimming and dhow sailing.  There is also a 5 star dive center offering a full range of PADI courses. On dry land guests can visit the African spa, take island drives, beach picnics and day trips to Vilanculos.
