Swakopmund Guesthouse
Swakopmund Guesthouse is a small, owner run guesthouse located in the town centre, and just a five-minute stroll from the beach and main shopping area. The guesthouse has eleven light and airy rooms with a contemporary nautical design. Each room has a spacious, modern adjoining bathroom and is equipped with all modern amenities. There is also a dedicated family suite with two bedrooms, an open-plan kitchen, and a sitting room. Breakfast is served in the attractive dining room each morning and there is also secure parking available. With sea mist rolling in on many mornings and then easterly winds in the afternoon, Swakopmund isn't a classic beachside resort. However there is plenty of activities on offer in and around Swakopmund and Walvis Bay to keep visitors occupied for a couple of nights. Quad bike excursions head inland into the vast, rolling dunes, whilst lie-down or stand-up sand boarding makes use of the dunes' relationship with gravity. Boat, catamaran and kayak trips to see the seal colonies on Pelican Point are available from Walvis Bay - dolphins can also sometimes be seen here. The lagoon is a superb place for sea birds with large numbers of pelicans, among others, present in the summer.
