Families with younger children have many malaria free riding choices, and there are intensive camps for those who enjoy fast paced all day adventures. A South African Riding Safari – A Personal View
From Horizon you can ride out to view game (nothing dangerous - just herbivores), play polo cross or mounted games (gymkhanas for grown ups) and go on game drives in neighboring parks. The riding was excellent and varied and in a week we saw roan antelope, impala, giraffe, rhinos, springbok, eland, zebra, reedbuck, buffalo, flamingos. The lodge is a real home from home, the hosts are welcoming but relaxed and there is nothing stuffy about Horizon. You can ride as much or as little as you like, or choose to enjoy a lovely pool and beautiful grounds.
