Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge
Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge is in northwestern Rwanda just on the edge of the Parc National des Volcans. The guest cottages all have wonderful views of the beautiful undulating countryside stretching out towards the park and its five volcanoes. The accommodations consist of five cottages, two suites, and a family suite. Other facilities at the lodge include a central building with a bar, dining room, shop, and library/games room. There are large outdoor decks running outside the bar and dining room, and these make great places for guests to sit and enjoy the spectacular views. Each of the rooms has at least one private veranda, a sitting room, fireplace for colder nights, bedroom, dressing room and private bathroom. The family room has two bedrooms. Parc National des Volcans (PNV) is located on the borders of the neighboring countries of Uganda and DR Congo and is named after the string of volcanoes it is home to. There are currently five families of mountain gorillas in PNV and gorilla tracking is the main attraction here. Visitors can also track golden monkeys, climb the Karisimbi or Visoke volcanoes, visit the remains of Dian Fossey's Karisoke research center, or go for walks around the charming villages beside the lakes.
