Denis Private Island
Denis Island, a 350 acre coral island some 95 kilometres from Mahé, lies at the edge of the Seychelles Bank which plunges 2000 feet down into the abyss of the Indian Ocean. The island is almost entirely surrounded by coral reefs giving rise to a natural lagoon and gentle, brilliant white, sand beaches. Denis Island resort is situated on the north western tip, just a stone's throw from the beach, surrounded by mature casuarina trees and coconut palms. The twenty five elegant en-suite cottages have private sea facing verandas and courtyards. Alongside are tracks that wind through the coconut groves to the interior of the island. The restaurant serves international and local specialities and is complemented by a well stocked bar. As well as snorkelling and swimming, the resort offers excellent diving and fishing. Other activities on offer include tennis and canoeing.
