Ant's Bush Camp
Ant's Bush Camp, run by the Ant's Nest team, is a rustic bush camp in the Lapalala Wilderness, 100,000 acres of rugged landscape in South Africa's Limpopo Province. There is a variety of game in the reserve as well as many Bushman paintings and numerous iron-age sites.
Accommodation & Facilities
Accommodation here is a 'Lookout Camp' which, set on a high ridge has wonderful views out across the reserve. The three tents are built on wooden platforms and are simply but comfortably furnished. In keeping with the rustic nature of the camp, there is no electricity but hot bucket showers and delicious bush food are provided.
Wildlife & Activities
There are many activities on offer including guided walks, which can be as long or short as you wish, swimming in the river, day and night game drives, and visiting the Bushman paintings. (Guests choosing to do the longer hikes need to be fairly fit as the terrain can be quite challenging). There is also good yellow bass fishing between September and mid-April. Game viewing is good with sightings of black and white rhino, wild dog, and leopard all possible. Two or three nights here combine very well with a stay at either Ant's Nest or Ant's Hill.
