Wait a Little Horse Safaris is run by Philip and Gerti Kusseler over 74,131 acres of privately managed reserve on the borders of the Kruger National Park. This area provides fabulous riding in one of Africa's most beautiful wilderness regions. The routes follow some of the many rivers in the area which support a wide variety of flora and fauna including lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, buffalo, cheetah, and wild dog.
They offer two safaris: ‘The Big 5 Ride’ and ‘The Makalali Ride’. The itineraries are fairly flexible, usually guests ride for about three hours in the early morning and again late in the afternoon, but all day rides with picnic lunches are often organized. Both trips is in groups of six offering long canters and small jumps and a good chance of seeing the Big 5. The camp features 35 well trained horses, consisting of South African Boerperds, thoroughbreds and crosses, warmbloods and Arabs and ranging from 14.3hh to 17hh.
The accommodation at Wait a Little Horse Safaris are in double-bedded canvas safari-style tents on raised decks with wonderful views over the Makhutswe River; they have African style furnishings and a private outside bathroom.
