Rivertrees Country Inn

The Rivertrees Country Inn is a small family run hotel close to Usa River, in the foothills of Mt Meru, between Kilimanjaro Airport and Arusha itself. It is positioned in ten acres of grounds where flowers are annually planted in abundance by the owner Martina Gerken-Trappe.  

Rivertrees hosts a bar, restaurant and good sized pool, as well as 14 rooms, each with adjoining bathrooms decorated in their own unique style. The original house has three rooms and can be used for guests wishing to dine alone. The two cottages are larger than the older rooms and have baths as well as outdoor showers. The recently built River House is beautiful with modern furniture and has two bedrooms which can be booked individually or the house can be reserved for exclusive use. Meals can be served on the terrace which overlooks the small river.

Rivertrees is a great base to rest for a couple of nights before heading out on safari. Visits to Arusha National Park or into the busy town can be organised, but many people will prefer to simply get some energy back before the forthcoming early morning game viewing.
