Kirurumu Tented Lodge

Kirurumu Tented Lodge is a joint venture with the local community, and has a spectacular location on the edge of the western escarpment of the Great Rift Valley with wonderful views of the plains, the valley, and Lake Manyara way down below. The backdrop to the lodge is the lush green of the Ngorongoro Crater Highlands. The entrance to Lake Manyara National Park is a twenty minute drive, and the Ngorongoro Crater is about one and half hours.

Kirurumu consists of 22 spacious walk-in safari tents set on wooden decks with covered verandahs. Each tent has simple yet comfortable furniture including proper beds, and adjoining bathrooms with hot and cold running water. The lodge has a dining room, a bar, and a big sundeck offering spectacular views of the valley.

Kirurumu Tented Lodge is an ideal base for exploring Lake Manyara National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater. You may also take a botanical walk with a Masai guide, learning about the medicinal uses for many plants, go mountain biking, hiking for a day, and, by special request, fly-camping in the forest.
