Lamai Serengeti
Lamai Serengeti is a new tented lodge located in the far north of Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park. The lodge, which is part of the Nomad Tanzania portfolio, opened in June 2011. It has been intelligently designed to blend organically into the rocky kopjes around which it is built, and to be as unobtrusive as possible.
Accommodation & Facilities
Lamai Serengeti has twelve rooms which are built of canvas, plaster and timber, all with en-suite bathrooms with huge showers, flush toilets and double sinks. The rooms are very spacious, and also have outside decks with great views, and plenty of seating space. Every room has a spectacular view, many of them being over the Mara River to the Isuria escarpment in Kenya’s Masai Mara. The lodge is split into two camps – one with eight tents and one with four tents to ensure a private and personal experience for all guests. Each camp has its own mess area as well as plenty of alternative private dining places, a spacious lounge and bar, a pool and many comfortable look-out areas to sit and relax in.
Wildlife & Activities
The lodge is situated in a prime location for good year round game viewing because of its close proximity to permanent water. Lamai Serengeti offers game drives and bush walks which will allow guests to see wildlife such as lion, leopard, cheetah, giraffe, zebra, buffalo, crocodile, elephant and a variety of antelope. Added to this, the lodge is close to the Mara River for when the wildebeest annually cross to Kenya’s Masai Mara and back.
