Wayo Africa

Wayo Africa, a well established leader of authentic mobile safaris in Tanzania, was founded by Jean DuPlessis in 2008 with the aim of recreating the traditional tented safari and enabling guests to get back to basics and experience the African bush in a way not possible from a permanent lodge or camp.

Accommodation & Facilities
The sleeping tents are 3 metre by 3 metre dome tents pitched in exclusive remote locations.  This is comfortable camping; tents have a thick foam mattress and full bed linen. There is a traditional shared safari shower and long drop loo nearby. Meals are home cooked by the very friendly camp team and is typically enjoyed served under the African stars and moonlight or in the separate dining tent. 

Wildlife & Activities
Mobile safaris are an excellent way to see Tanzania and to get off the beaten track but also follow animal movements and to reach the areas of greatest game concentrations throughout the year. You will be hosted by a knowledgeable, friendly and professional guide throughout your Wayo Africa safari. Activities on offer depend on which camp you choose; some are dedicated walking safari camps where you get to explore the pristine wilderness areas on foot in the company of a specialist walking guide  or drive in camps where you can use the camp as a base to game drive in comfortable fully safari-equipped 4x4s each day.
