The Tides

   

The Tides, is set on the tranquil and unspoilt Tanzanian coastline, close to Pangani, is just a 40 minute flight north of Dar es Salaam and is also accessible by plane from Arusha and Zanzibar. Overlooking a pristine beach, fringed with palm trees and crystal clear sea, the lodge offers a secluded, relaxing beachfront destination.

Accommodation & Facilities
The Tides has seven individual beach cottages and a private house, each offering simple accommodation with a rustic makuti thatched roof, spacious bathroom with shower, a verandah and each has a private pathway leading to the beach, with an individual sun lounging area.  The house has two bedrooms, bathroom and a spacious lounge with small kitchenette area.  There is a lovely thatch roofed bar and restaurant directly on the beach, offering a mixture of international and Swahili cuisine, with seafood being a specialty. There is a swimming pool surrounded by attractive gardens to the rear of the lodge.

Wildlife & Activities
It is so easy to switch off and relax here, but if you want to be more active, you could go on a snorkeling trip to Maziwe Island, a stunning sandbank, situated 6 miles offshore, surrounded by an array of coral and marine life.  Other activities include fishing, either inshore off one of the numerous reefs or further out for the bigger game fish, a historical walking tour around Pangani, a guided village walk through a typical Swahili fishing village nearby.  The lodge can also arrange scuba diving and overnight trips to Saadani National Park (by prior arrangement).  They also offer bicycles, kayaks and boogie boards for hire.
